Gurdaspur: Zila Parishad and Block Samiti Elections Scheduled.

Elections will be held for 25 zones of the Zila Parishad and 204 zones of the 11 Block Samitis in Gurdaspur.

Nomination papers can be filed starting today, December 1st – The last date for filing nominations is December 4, 2025.


In accordance with the directives and regulations of the State Election Commission, the District Administration will hold the general elections for the members of the Zila Parishad (District Council) and Panchayat Samiti (Block Council) in a totally impartial, free, and peaceful manner under the direction of the District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Aditya Uppal.

According to the State Election Commission’s program, elections for 25 Zila Parishad zones and 204 Block Samitis zones will take place in Gurdaspur district on December 14. This information was provided by Additional District Election Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Shri Gurpreet Singh Gill. 50% of the seats in the Zila Parishad and Block Samitis elections will be set aside for women, and these elections will be held using ballot paper.

Highlights of the Election Schedule
He stated that these elections will take place on the following dates, per the election schedule:

Nomination papers must be submitted by Monday, December 1, 2025, between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Nominations must be submitted by Thursday, December 4, 2025.

Examining Nomination Papers: Friday, December 5, 2025

The deadline for withdrawing nominations is Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 3:00 PM.

Additionally, he advised that all nomination papers must be accompanied by the required affidavit and, if a political party is fielding the candidate, the party’s official letter.

Dates for Polling and Counting
According to him, voting will take place on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM utilizing ballot papers. On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, the polled votes will be counted at the designated counting centers.

  • Panchayat Samiti Batala: 15 zones

  • Panchayat Samiti Dinnanagar: 22 zones

  • Panchayat Samiti Dorangla: 15 zones

  • Panchayat Samiti Dera Baba Nanak: 19 zones

  • Panchayat Samiti Dhariwal: 17 zones

  • Panchayat Samiti Fatehgarh Churian: 25 zones

  • Panchayat Samiti Gurdaspur: 21 zones

  • Panchayat Samiti Kahnuwan: 15 zones

  • Panchayat Samiti Kalanaur: 19 zones

  • Block Samiti Qadian: 17 zones

  • Block Samiti Sri Hargobindpur Sahib: 19 zones
