Punjabi singer and global star Diljit Dosanjh made his first appearance at the Met Gala 2025, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. He walked the blue carpet wearing a royal white outfit inspired by the Maharaja of Patiala.
His look was designed by American-Nepalese fashion designer Prabal Gurung, who also styled Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt for past Met Galas.
Diljit proudly represented his Sikh heritage by wearing an ivory and gold sherwani, a tehmat, and a jeweled turban with a white kalgi. He also carried a lion-headed, jewel-studded kirpan. His outfit included a cape with the map of Punjab and Gurmukhi script embroidered on it.
Videos shared on Instagram by his team showed Diljit leaving the hotel and twirling his moustache, with captions like “HISTORY” and “He wore a Legacy.”
Diljit had confirmed his Met Gala debut on Sunday through social media. He attended the event with designer Prabal Gurung to celebrate the opening of the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” exhibition.
