CM Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal Launch ‘Easy Jamabandi’ Portal for Hassle-Free Land Record Services

In a major step towards transparent and citizen-friendly governance, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, along with AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, launched the ‘Easy Jamabandi’ portal on Thursday. This new digital platform is aimed at making land-related services easier, faster, and corruption-free for the people of Punjab.

The initiative follows the success of the earlier ‘Easy Registry’ project in Mohali and is part of the government’s ongoing revenue reforms.

What the Portal Offers:

Now, people no longer need to run around Patwaris or revenue offices. Key land services are just a click away:

  • Jamabandi via WhatsApp – Download land ownership records with QR code verification for free

  • Online Mutation (Intkal) – Automatic updates in 30 days for deed or inheritance cases

  • Rapat Entry – Court-related entries completed in 1 day; loan entries in 7 days

  • Fard Badar (Correction of Land Records) – Online application and corrections within 15 days

  • Land Record Subscription for NRIs – Get alerts on any changes to your land by paying ₹500 per year

Why This Matters:

Over 40 lakh people access Jamabandi records every year. Till now, they had to deal with long lines, delays, and often bribes. The new system makes it possible to access land records from home, and 99% of villages in Punjab are already fully digitised. The rest will be covered in the next two months.

For inheritance and mutation cases, people can now apply online and track their application on WhatsApp, reducing the influence of middlemen.

NRIs and other landowners can now protect their property by subscribing to alerts and raising objections instantly if any tampering is detected.

When and How to Use It:

All these services will be available across Punjab by July 15.

You can use them by:

What the Leaders Said:

“This is how governance should be—simple, clean, and for the people,” said CM Bhagwant Mann.
“No more bribes, no more waiting. Everything is online and in your control,” added Arvind Kejriwal.

This new system is being seen as a major step toward clean governance, making life easier especially for farmers, NRIs, and everyday landowners in Punjab.
