Warring Slams AAP Over Sacrilege Law Move, Calls It a Diversion Tactic

Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for calling a special session to bring a new law against sacrilege. He called it a clear attempt to divert attention from the real issues.

Warring questioned why the government didn’t act earlier if it was serious about tackling sacrilege. “Is the government trying to say there’s no law in Punjab or India to deal with sacrilege?” he asked.

He accused the AAP government of lacking both the will and ability to deliver justice in sacrilege cases. “When they saw that public anger was rising, they started trying to distract people with this new move,” he said.

The Congress leader also pointed out that AAP had taken votes in the name of justice for sacrilege, but didn’t follow through. “Even their own MLA, Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, had investigated the issue deeply — and now he’s suspended from the party,” Warring said.

He emphasized that the people of Punjab want real action and accountability, not what he described as “diversion, distraction, and deflection.”

“Punjab wants justice, not drama,” he concluded.
