A new political clash has started between AAP MLA from Gidderbaha, Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon, and Congress leader Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, who earlier represented the same area and is now an MP from Ludhiana.
On Thursday, Dimpy accused the local Congress-led municipal council of stopping development work in Gidderbaha due to political rivalry. He said he even asked the council president to continue the work and take full credit for it, but the president refused, saying he would only act on Raja Warring’s orders. “Because of this, six months have been wasted and the streets are still not built,” said Dimpy. “Now I’m trying to find another way to get the work done.”
On Friday, Raja Warring replied strongly. He said AAP leaders keep blaming others instead of doing their job. “The CM is from their party, the government is theirs — why the excuses?” Warring asked during a live session on Facebook. He added that work in Gidderbaha needs proper council approval with support from all members. “How can work happen if the proper process is not followed?” he said.
Warring also questioned the status of old promises made by AAP. He asked what happened to the Malwa canal work and the promised sewerage improvements. He claimed only Rs 70 lakh has been given for Gidderbaha’s development after the bypoll and urged the Chief Minister to release more funds and work with local bodies.
This latest political fight has brought Gidderbaha’s development issues into the spotlight once again.
