Vishal Furia on Casting Nushrratt Bharuccha and Soha Ali Khan in Chhorii 2

As filmmaker Vishal Furia prepares for the release of his much-awaited horror-thriller Chhorii 2 on April 11 on Amazon Prime Video, he opens up about the casting choices that have shaped the film.

Furia, who gained acclaim for Chhorii in 2021, revealed that casting Nushrratt Bharuccha in the lead role again was a straightforward decision. “This was my second time working with Nushrratt. She is an extremely collaborative actor to work with. She surrenders herself to the film’s world and to the director’s vision,” said Furia.

However, casting the film’s antagonist, Daasi, took more deliberation. Furia shared that it was producer Vikram Malhotra who first suggested Soha Ali Khan for the role. The suggestion instantly clicked with Furia, who felt Soha was the perfect fit for the eerie and powerful character.

Known for his unique storytelling style in the horror-thriller genre, Furia has built strong anticipation around Chhorii 2, especially after the success of the original film.
