The Bhandari Bridge in Amritsar has been barricaded by members of the Valmiki community. They claim that improper activities took place at their sacred location. Religious feelings have been offended. There has been sacrilege at the pilgrimage site.
They further claim that the Palki Sahib has been broken and disrespected, that kirpans have been desecrated, and that the holy pilgrimage site and place of prayer have been insulted. The people of Valmiki are angry.
