Two Men Sent to Jail for 14 Days in Social Media Star Kamal Kaur Bhabhi’s Murder Case

A local court has sent two men, Nimaratjeet Singh and Jaspreet Singh, to 14-day judicial custody in connection with the murder of social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, also known as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi. Both were arrested on June 13 and had been in police remand for five days, which ended today.

Kanchan’s body was found on the night of June 11 inside a car parked near Adesh University at Bhucho Kalan on the Bathinda-Chandigarh highway.

According to the police, Nimaratjeet and Jaspreet were involved in the murder along with Amritpal Singh Mehron, who is believed to be the mastermind. The police claim the motive was “moral policing.”

Advocate Harpal Singh Khara, who represents Nimaratjeet and Jaspreet, argued in court that there is no further recovery needed in the case. He said the victim’s phone has already been recovered and that no traditional weapon was used in the murder. Instead, a “kamarkass” (waistband) allegedly used to strangle the victim was later burnt.

The lawyer also raised doubts about a video in which Amritpal is seen admitting to the crime. He suggested that the video could have been made using artificial intelligence (AI) and said the police might have secretly arrested Amritpal and are now spinning false stories.

Meanwhile, police say that Amritpal Singh Mehron had already flown to the UAE before a lookout notice was issued for him on June 14. A court has now issued a formal arrest warrant against him.

Another man, Ranjit Singh from Sohal village in Tarn Taran district, and one unidentified person are also wanted in the case and are currently on the run. A lookout circular has been issued for both of them as well.

The investigation into the case is still ongoing.
