Truck Crushes Girl to Death in Jalandhar: Went Out of Control While Trying to Avoid a Pothole; She Was Waiting for a Bus on the Road.
Around 11 a.m. on Sunday, a truck in Jalandhar lost control while trying to dodge potholes. A girl standing by the side of the road was crushed by it, and she died as a result. The police arrived at the scene and began an investigation after obtaining the information.
Based on the information provided, the deceased has been identified as Mahitpur resident Romanpreet Kaur, age 16. While waiting for a bus to Mahitpur, she and her family were standing at the Singhowal bus station.

During this period, a truck carrying rail and sand, registered PB 02 BV 8387, lost control while attempting to avoid deep potholes on the road. A family was unexpectedly struck by it, and while the other members of the family fell to the side, Romanpreet was gravely hurt and passed away immediately.
People said that the driver was intoxicated.
Witnesses claim that Ram Singh, the truck driver, was intoxicated. Singh lived in Khukherain, Kotwali police station, Kapurthala. The investigating officer, Sub-Inspector Kashmir Singh, stated that the driver was forced to have a medical examination, which has not yet verified that alcohol was used.
The matter is still being investigated, and the police have already taken the body into custody and sent it for a post-mortem.
