Traffic Jam Soon on Jalandhar-Ludhiana National Highway: Dalit Organizations to Protest, Demanding Arrest of Accused in Haryana IPS Suicide Case.
In Ludhiana, Dalit groups will shortly hold a protest close to the Jalandhar Bypass, which would disrupt traffic for cars travelling to and from Jalandhar. On the Jalandhar-Panipat Highway, traffic flow would also be impacted.
Dalit organizations are calling for the arrest of all the officers whose names the IPS officer listed in his suicide note in connection with the suicide case of Haryana IPS Y. Puran Kumar.
They claim that the whole Dalit community is furious because the perpetrator was not arrested. This demonstration will be led by Vijay Danav, the Chairman of the Punjab Dalit Vikas Board and the Bharatiya Valmiki Dharm Samaj (BhaVadhass).
All necessary services, like ambulances and school buses, would continue to operate throughout this road blockade (Chakka Jam), according to Chaudhary Yashpal, a BhaVadhass leader who attended the demonstration.
If the intersection is blocked, will city residents be troubled? Protest: Dalit organizations have said that if only the Jalandhar Bypass Chowk is blocked, only city residents will be troubled. Traffic going towards Salem Tabri will stop due to the blocking of Jalandhar Bypass Chowk. Besides this, people going from the Old GT Road side will be able to reach the Elevated Road, but not Jalandhar Bypass Chowk. Traffic jams may occur at Karabara Chowk, Bahadur Ke Road, Sabzi Mandi, Dana Mandi, and Shivpuri Chowk.
