Three young people have been arrested by Amritsar Police in connection with a drug and arms smuggling operation, marking a significant breakthrough. The suspects were found to have four firearms, two kilograms of heroin, and 3.5 lakh rupees in hawala money.
At a press conference, Police Commissioner Gurpreet Bhullar stated that a tip led to the arrests. According to an inquiry, two of the defendants had resided in Malaysia, where they had interacted with ‘Rana’, a Pakistani smuggler. They later became part of a drug and firearm smuggling network. The third defendant handled the financial transactions for the hawala company.

As the inquiry continues, the commissioner said more disclosures are anticipated. The police are actively attempting to break up these criminal networks, he stressed.
