Three Injured in Fire Accident at Mohali Village, Including Woman Who Jumped from First Floor

A fire broke out in a house in a Mohali village this afternoon, injuring three persons, including a woman who jumped from the first floor of her house to escape the blaze. The fire reportedly started from a cooking gas cylinder, which ignited due to a defective supply pipe.

Eyewitnesses described the panic as the fire quickly spread across the house. In a desperate attempt to escape, the woman jumped from the first floor into the verandah. Neighbors rushed to the scene, managing to throw the burning cylinder into an open area to prevent further damage.

The victims, suffering from burn injuries and other wounds, were promptly taken to the Phase-6 Civil Hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment.

Fire officer Rajinder Pal Singh confirmed that a distress call was received, and a fire tender was dispatched to the site. He mentioned that locals reported there were seven people inside the house when the fire broke out. However, due to the congested roads and internet wires in the area, the fire tender faced challenges reaching the location.

The cause of the fire has been identified as the defective supply pipe connected to the cooking gas cylinder, which sparked the blaze. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
