The Punjab government is celebrating Independence Day at the state level in Faridkot. CM Mann will raise the flag, 2000 police officers will be sent in for security, and other dignitaries will be honoured.

Faridkot is hosting the Punjab government’s state-level Independence Day festivities. CM Bhagwant Mann will raise the flag at Nehru Stadium. The police have put in place elaborate security measures. Approximately two thousand police officers have been sent to this event. Additionally, CCTV and drone cameras will be used to watch the entire arena. A no-fly zone has been established over the area. Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the leader of the Khalistani terrorist group Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), has threatened to kill Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, which has put the police on high alert this time as well. Faridkot has outlawed the selling of petrol in cans due to concerns that the cans may contain offensive phrases. The cops are not in the mindset to take any chances in such a situation. Several politicians have been arrested by the police, including members of the Punjab Contract Employees’ Union and the PTI Unemployed Teachers’ Union.

Tilla Baba Farid has been paid obeisance

CM Mann began his morning devotions at the revered Gurdwara Tilla Baba Farid. He then took part in the program at the state level. The march past salute is currently being taken by him. Tableaux from different departments will then be shown. Ultimately, the CM will honour 26 individuals who have excelled in a variety of disciplines, as well as police officers and the families of freedom fighters. In recognition of their contributions to the Punjab Police, 15 officers and staff will get the Chief Minister’s Medal, and four police officers will receive the Chief Minister’s Protector Medal.
