Tarn Taran By-election Controversy: Punjab DGP Appears Before Election Commission.
Gaurav Yadav, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Punjab, appeared before the Election Commission of India (ECI) today. He was called in response to concerns about purported police meddling in the Tarn Taran Assembly by-election.
Gaurav Yadav was called when opposition parties voiced concerns about the behavior of security personnel during the by-election. Yadav stayed inside the ECI headquarters for around an hour.
The Punjab DGP made no statement after he appeared before the Election Commission. As part of its ongoing assessment of the Tarn Taran election process, the Election Commission (ECI) is looking into these claims.
