Supreme Court Strongly Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack That Killed 28 Tourists

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court of India strongly condemned the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 28 tourists were killed and many others injured. The attack happened on Tuesday and has shocked the entire country.

In a rare and serious step, the top court passed a resolution calling the attack a “diabolical act of mindless violence.” The resolution said that the attack had shaken the conscience of the nation and was a brutal act against innocent people who were simply enjoying the beauty of Kashmir.

The court said, “This act is against humanity and the value of life. The Supreme Court pays tribute to the lives lost and offers condolences to their families. We hope the injured recover soon.”

At 2 PM on Wednesday, all judges, lawyers, and court staff observed two minutes of silence to honor the victims. A siren was sounded at 1:59 PM to begin the tribute, and everyone stood in silence to show their support for the victims and their families.

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and the Supreme Court Advocates-on Record Association (SCAORA) also passed resolutions condemning the attack. More than 300 lawyers gathered on the court lawns to pay their respects.

The SCBA said, “This attack on innocent people is a terrible act that goes against all human values. We offer our deepest condolences to the families and wish a speedy recovery to those who were injured.”

SCAORA added that it stands firmly with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the entire nation during this difficult time.
