Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Badal strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab. He said that the state is being controlled by three leaders from Delhi — Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Satyendar Jain. According to him, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is just a puppet and not really in charge.
Badal questioned why Jain and Sisodia are meeting with Punjab government officers, asking under what authority they are doing so. He claimed that the Delhi leaders know they have only 1.5 years left in power, so they are trying to loot the state quickly.
While speaking in Ludhiana, Sukhbir praised the Indian Army for protecting Punjab during the recent war with Pakistan. He said Punjab faced more attacks than other states, but the Army’s strong air defence system saved the people. He also thanked the Prime Minister for supporting the armed forces.
He mentioned that the Golden Temple was one of the targets in the attack plan, but the Indian Army stopped it. He said he was abroad and unaware of SGPC’s statement but trusted the Army’s bravery.
Badal accused the AAP government of planning to take money from farmers, traders, and businessmen in the name of land acquisition. He also held a private meeting with local SAD leaders, including Parupkar Singh Ghuman, the party’s candidate from the West constituency.
When asked about future political alliances, Sukhbir said SAD is open to working with any party that supports the rights of Punjab and its people.
