Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 26, 2025
Following the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Harman Deep Singh Hans and Superintendent of Police Traffic Navneet Singh Mahal, the District Police’s Traffic Wing organized a seminar on anti-drug and traffic rule awareness. The event was held at the NSS unit of Khalsa College (Amritsar) of Technology and Business Studies, Mohali, and was conducted by Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Karnail Singh.

Students learnt about the dangers of drugs, the value of obeying traffic laws, and the advantages of playing sports throughout the lecture. They received thorough instructions on how to utilise indicators while changing lanes, stay in their lane, and refrain from using cell phones while driving.
The Motor Vehicles Act stipulates that a first-time offender who uses a mobile phone while driving faces a fine of ₹5,000, according to information on legal restrictions. A repeat offence carries a three-month licence suspension, a 10,000 fine, and a six-month jail sentence. The same is true for overspeeding, which entails a 2,000 fine the first time and a 4,000 fine and three-month licence suspension the second time.
This time, the Traffic Wing of the District Police was thanked by the college’s principal and personnel. Karnail Singh urged youngsters to get involved in sports as he wrapped up his speech.
