Student Session in Punjab Assembly on November 26: Children-Students to be seen as CM, Minister, MLA, and Opposition; will understand the functioning of democracy.


For the first time, the Punjab Vidhan Sabha (Assembly) will host a unique “Student Session.” The Chief Minister, Minister, MLA, and Opposition will be portrayed by a chosen group of students from throughout the state.

The goal of this program is to motivate young people to comprehend how democracy works and to actively engage in politics. This special session will take place on November 26, as decided by the government.

This will be just like an actual session, which makes it unique. Kultar Singh Sandhwan, the Assembly Speaker, will preside over it. Students from every school and college in the state are welcome to take part in this.

The Vidhan Sabha Secretariat and the Education Department will work together to complete the selection process. The Education Department and the Vidhan Sabha Committee have previously conducted training sessions. The entire Assembly procedure, including Question Hour, Adjournment Motion, Zero Hour, and Bill Passing, will be taught to a chosen group of pupils.

Students will act out the parts of the opposition, ministers, and chief minister.
One student will take on the position of Chief Minister in the program, while other students will serve as MLAs, and some will become ministers. In accordance with the Assembly’s regulations, they will hold talks and Q&A sessions regarding the government’s operations during the session, just like in an actual session.
