Special Sikh Prayer for Peace and Harmony Offered at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Amid Border Tensions

In light of the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, a special ‘ardas’ (Sikh prayer) for peace and harmony was held today at the sacred Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib in Sri Anandpur Sahib. This holy place, associated with the tenth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh, witnessed an emotional plea for peace in the South Asian region.

Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, the officiating Jathedar of Akal Takht and Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, led the prayer before Guru Granth Sahib. The ‘ardas’ appealed for the grace of Guru Sahib to bring peace, mutual love, unity, and protection to all living beings across the world, especially those in South Asia, amidst the rising threat of war.

The prayer urged the governments of both India and Pakistan to make sincere efforts to restore peace, emphasizing that war always brings severe harm to humanity, particularly the innocent. Giani Gargaj expressed that since the partition of 1947, both nations have endured immense suffering, with the Hindu and Sikh communities in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir facing significant losses.

Before the ‘ardas’, Gurbani was recited in front of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib. The prayer ceremony was attended by SGPC executive committee member Dr. Daljit Singh Bhinder, Head Granthi of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Giani Joginder Singh, Panj Piaras, and other dignitaries, along with the Sangat (devotees). The gathering made a collective appeal for peace, unity, and an end to the ongoing hostilities between the two nations.
