Sixth Bomb Threat Email Targets Golden Temple, ਪੁਲਿਸ Launch Probe

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) received another email threatening to blow up the Golden Temple. This is the sixth such threat since July 14. The email was also sent to Amritsar ਪੁਲਿਸ Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, though the ਪੁਲਿਸ denied receiving it. An SGPC official, however, confirmed it.

ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ Bhagwant Mann held a meeting with top ਪੁਲਿਸ officials and assured the public through social media that there would be no compromise on ਪੰਜਾਬ’s security. He said the ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ and security agencies were fully alert and asked ਲੋਕ not to believe in rumours. “Religious places of all faiths are sacred, and strict action will be taken against anti-national forces,” he said.

Call for Central Forces

Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla wrote to Union Home ਮੰਤਰੀ Amit Shah, asking for permanent deployment of central forces at the Golden Temple. In response, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਮੰਤਰੀ Sanjeev Arora said the ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ were capable of handling the situation.

Senior ਪੁਲਿਸ officers, along with AAP MLAs Inderbir Singh Nijjar and Ajay Gupta, met with SGPC officials. Nijjar said CM Mann was closely monitoring the situation.

ਪੁਲਿਸ Investigation Ongoing

ਪੁਲਿਸ Commissioner Bhullar said important clues had been found, and teams were sent outside ਪੰਜਾਬ to investigate further. He said a firm linked to a US-based software company was used to send the emails.

However, Golden Temple head priest Giani Raghbir Singh criticized the ਪੁਲਿਸ, saying they had no clear answers yet.

Opposition Demands Quick Action

Opposition leader Partap Singh Bajwa and state Congress ਮੁੱਖ Amrinder Singh Raja Warring called for quick and strong action to find and arrest those responsible.
