Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised Shubhanshu Shukla, saying the astronaut has not only touched space but also “lifted India’s aspirations to new heights” after completing a 20-day mission at the International Space Station. Singh, who is a Lok Sabha member from Lucknow, personally called Shukla’s father to congratulate him and expressed the nation’s pride in his son’s achievement.
Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Union Home Minister Amit Shah also welcomed Shukla back from his historic journey. Dhankhar highlighted India’s growing space capabilities and said the mission would inspire future generations of astronauts and scientists. Shah described Shukla’s mission as an “episode of triumph” that has boosted national pride and strengthened confidence in the talent and determination of Indian astronauts and scientists.
