The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of giving important government files to Arvind Kejriwal and his team, even though some of them are out on bail in corruption cases. SAD passed this resolution during a big meeting at Teja Singh Samundari Hall near the Golden Temple.
They said it’s shocking that people involved in corruption cases, like Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, are checking Punjab government files. These cases are linked to the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy of 2020-21.
SAD also spoke about other issues in Punjab. They said law and order has totally failed, with grenade attacks on police stations and damage to statues of BR Ambedkar. They asked the government to release “Bandi Sikhs” (Sikh prisoners) as promised earlier. They demanded that Balwant Singh Rajoana’s death sentence should be changed to life imprisonment.SAD asked all political parties to unite and request the central government to follow a true federal system, as they believe the Centre is taking away state powers. They also demanded that Punjabi-speaking areas in Haryana, along with Chandigarh, should be given to Punjab. They opposed the idea of keeping Chandigarh as a permanent Union Territory. SAD criticized interference in Sikh religious matters, blaming BJP and AAP for starting a separate gurdwara committee in Haryana.
On another note, the acting Jathedar of Akal Takht, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, asked all Sikhs to hoist the Nishan Sahib at their homes and workplaces to celebrate Khalsa Sajna Diwas. He congratulated the community on the 326th anniversary of the Khalsa Panth.
