Security Forces Release Sketches of Suspects in Pahalgam Terror Attack

On Tuesday, a deadly terrorist attack took place near Pahalgam in South Kashmir, killing 26 people. Most of the victims were tourists, including two foreigners from the UAE and Nepal, and two local people. Many others were injured.

On Wednesday, security agencies released sketches of three men suspected to be involved in the attack. The suspects have been identified as Asif Fauji, Suleman Shah, and Abu Talha. They also used code names — Moosa, Yunus, and Asif. Officials say these men have been involved in other terror activities in Poonch as well.

The Resistance Front (TRF), a group linked to the banned Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned from Saudi Arabia and immediately met with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar at the Delhi airport to discuss the situation. Home Minister Amit Shah also visited Srinagar and promised that those behind the attack will be punished.

A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is on the way to Pahalgam to help local police investigate the incident. A large search operation has been launched to find the attackers and uncover more about the plan behind this act of terror.
