SDM Manreet Rana Holds Meeting with Arhtiyas and Sheller Owners to Ensure Smooth Rice Procurement Season

All Arrangements Complete in Khanna Grain Markets; Officials Instructed Not to be Negligent

Khamano/Fatehgarh Sahib, 19th September:

In order to guarantee the seamless conclusion of the entire rice season, SDM Manreet Rana met with commission agents (arhtiyas) and rice mill owners (sheller owners) today to solicit their support. According to her, all procurement-related arrangements have been finalized in all of the Khamano subdivision’s grain markets under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sona Thind, and the arrival of paddy is anticipated to start shortly.

The convenience of all parties engaged in the procurement process is being guaranteed, according to the SDM, even though extensive arrangements have been made for the purchase, lifting, and payment of the farmers’ produce. Additionally, she urged sheller owners and arhtiyas to urge farmers to only bring dry paddy to markets. She stated that ₹2,389 per quintal has been set as the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy.

Manreet Rana stated that she will personally monitor the entire procurement process on a daily basis and that any negligence found at the official level will result in action being taken according to the rules. She also instructed officials from the Mandi Board and Market Committees to ensure the availability of all necessary facilities.
