Overnight Russian drone and missile attacks on Ukraine’s capital killed at least four ਲੋਕ and injured several others, officials said Monday, as rescue teams searched for survivors trapped under the rubble of a partially collapsed apartment building.
The assault targeted multiple residential areas, hospitals, and sports facilities across Kyiv, with the heaviest damage reported in the Shevchenkivskyi ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ. There, a section of a five-story apartment building collapsed following a direct hit. Emergency services confirmed four fatalities in the building and said ten ਲੋਕ had been rescued, while more victims were believed to remain trapped beneath the debris.
The attacks come nearly a week after a devastating Russian strike on Kyiv last Tuesday that killed 28 ਲੋਕ, including 23 in a residential building that collapsed under a missile impact. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described that previous bombardment as one of the most severe since the war began over three years ago.
In addition to Kyiv, the ਸ਼ਹਿਰ of Bila Tserkva, located about 85 kilometers southwest of the capital, suffered casualties from the strikes. One person was killed and eight others injured in the attack there.
The ongoing wave of attacks underscores the persistent intensity of the conflict as Ukraine enters its fourth year of war with Russia. Rescue efforts continue amid concerns for civilians caught in the crossfire.
