The roof of a widow’s house collapses in Kapurthala. Heavy Rain Saves 6-Year-Old Grandson
Two days of nonstop rain in Kapurthala caused a widow’s house’s roof to fall. Thankfully, nobody was hurt. Dishwashing at people’s houses is how Taru, a woman from Mohalla Uncha Dhora, earns a living. Her 6-year-old grandson was spared because he was sleeping in the room when it collapsed.

A flooded room and damaged possessions were the outcomes of the occurrence. The rest of the woman’s belongings have been kept in storage at her neighbors’ houses. According to Taru, her husband passed away a number of years ago, and she lacks the funds necessary to get the roof fixed.

A team from the district administration showed up on the scene after learning about the occurrence. They evaluated the situation and gave the impacted women relief supplies. Taru has made a request for more assistance from the district administration and the Punjabi government. In addition to devastating crops in the nearby villages, Punjab’s constant rain is causing flooding to approach numerous homes.
