Review Meeting by the Deputy Commissioner Regarding Preparations for the General Elections of Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads

Fatehgarh Sahib, November 11:

Today, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sona Thind issued directions to district officials regarding the preparations for the forthcoming General Elections of the Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads (Block and District Councils).

During the meeting held at Bachat Bhawan, the Deputy Commissioner stated that although the Election Commission has not yet announced the dates for these general elections, the availability of basic facilities for voters at polling booths and polling stations should be assessed so that any deficiencies can be rectified. She instructed the concerned departmental officers, including the ADC Development, Sub Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), District Development and Panchayat Officer, District Information Officer, and others, to complete all arrangements on time. Directions were also given to the police department officials regarding security arrangements.

Officers present at the meeting included ADC Development Surinder Singh Dhaliwal, ADC General (Additional Charge) Arvind Gupta, SP Harwant Kaur, SDM Bassi Pathana Harveer Kaur, SDM Amloh Chetan Bangar, District Development and Panchayat Officer Jaspreet Kaur, and all Block Development and Panchayat Officers, among others.
