Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday accused the ਸਰਕਾਰ of allowing China to occupy 4,000 square kilometers of Indian land. He also criticized the US-imposed tariffs on ਭਾਰਤ, saying they could harm the Indian economy. Speaking during the Zero Hour in Lok Sabha, Gandhi questioned why Indian officials were celebrating diplomatic ties with China when Indian soldiers had died in the Galwan clash in 2020.
Gandhi also claimed that Prime ਮੰਤਰੀ Narendra Modi and the President had written letters to China, but the Indian ਲੋਕ learned about it from the Chinese ambassador instead of their own ਸਰਕਾਰ. He called for answers from the ਸਰਕਾਰ regarding the lost land and the economic impact of US tariffs.
The BJP strongly denied Gandhi’s claims, stating that “not an inch of land” was taken by China under Modi’s leadership. BJP MP Anurag Thakur accused the Congress of being responsible for past territorial losses, including the Aksai Chin region. He also questioned the Congress over alleged financial dealings with China.
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey praised PM Modi, saying world leaders respect him, and criticized past Congress leaders for making agreements that weakened ਭਾਰਤ’s position. He stated that Modi has strengthened ਭਾਰਤ’s global standing.
The heated exchange between the two parties highlighted their contrasting views on foreign policy and national security.
