Punjab Strengthens Global Partnerships Through Round Table Meetings with GCC and CIS Ambassadors.

Ambassadors Commend State’s Proactive Approach, Explore Investment, Trade, and Sectoral Partnerships.


The Punjab government hosted two roundtable sessions with ambassadors from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations today in New Delhi as part of its global outreach in advance of the 6th Progressive Punjab Investors Summit (PPIS) 2026.

Ambassadors, senior diplomats, members from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and senior Punjab government officials attended the discussions, which were presided over by Shri Sanjeev Arora, Minister of Industry & Commerce, Investment Promotion, Power, and NRI Affairs. Shri K.K. Yadav, IAS, Administrative Secretary, Department of Investment Promotion, gave welcome remarks at the start of both meetings. The state’s strong industrial climate, investment-ready infrastructure, legislative reforms, and new prospects in agriculture, agri-tech, food processing, IT, healthcare, and manufacturing were all highlighted in the “Advantage Punjab” presentation that followed.

The attendance of ambassadors from Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Bahrain at the GCC Round Table meeting demonstrated the group’s readiness to deepen economic relations with Punjab. The GCC ambassadors praised Punjab’s presentation and noted that the GCC can act as a top export gateway for Punjab and India because of its top-notch ports, robust logistical systems, and wide global connectivity to Africa, Europe, and the Americas. They highlighted the GCC’s efforts to diversify its economy and Punjab’s strong manufacturing capabilities, skilled labor pool, and entrepreneurial base.

The ambassadors of Kazakhstan, Russia, Armenia, and Belarus were present at the CIS Round Table meeting, and they all expressed a strong desire to further their long-standing relationships with Punjab. Citing Punjab’s robust academic institutions, cutting-edge agricultural methods, and thriving tourism potential, the Kazakh ambassador emphasized education, tourism & culture, and trade & exports as the three primary pillars of cooperation.

The Russian Federation’s ambassador emphasized the enormous potential for growing agricultural commerce with Punjab, especially for tomato and rice goods. Opportunities for collaboration in railroads, petrochemicals, FinTech, AI, aerospace, banking, and financial services were emphasized by him. Additionally, he expressed gratitude for Punjab’s desire to participate in the forthcoming Russia-India National Level Collaboration Forum.

The Armenian ambassador showed interest in collaborating in agri-tech, dairy, IT services, and renewable energy while praising Punjab’s proactive outreach to the CIS nations. Additionally, he stressed the value of interpersonal interactions, yearly cultural events, and university-level partnerships in tourist management and skill development.

The Belarusian ambassador highlighted Belarus’s proficiency in agriculture education and agri-machinery manufacture while congratulating the Punjab government for starting direct communication with the CIS. He extended an invitation to the Punjabi government and industry to take part in the yearly agricultural show in Belarus in June 2026, which is a crucial venue for technical collaborations and business-to-business interactions.

Speaking to the participants, Minister Sanjeev Arora emphasized Punjab’s progressive reforms, such as the Right to Business Act and the Enhanced FastTrack Punjab Single-Window System, which is currently the most sophisticated digital investor facilitation platform in India. He urged the GCC and CIS nations to prioritize Punjab for manufacturing and services and to use Invest Punjab to draw in industry-specific collaborations.

During the conversation, Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora formally invited business delegations and ambassadors from the GCC and CIS nations to attend the Progressive Punjab Investors Summit 2026 and look into investment opportunities in infrastructure, agriculture, agritech, dairy, IT services, education, tourism, and the medical and healthcare ecosystem.

In order to underline the State Government’s commitment to offering investor-friendly laws, timely approvals, and a globally competitive business climate, the Cabinet Minister also extended an invitation for them to explore Punjab, including locations of national and cultural significance.

Participating in the discussions was a senior official from the Ministry of External Affairs, who acknowledged Punjab’s important contribution to India’s wider economic diplomacy and international business expansion and praised Punjab’s focused, sector-specific engagement plan.

Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Maan received praise from ambassadors from the GCC and CIS.

for implementing an organized, regionally targeted foreign outreach program for the first time, and decided to work with Punjab to develop regional alliances, facilitate corporate delegations, and foster economic and cultural exchanges.

Both parties agreed to continue close collaboration and expedite preparations to increase the GCC and CIS’s involvement in the Progressive Punjab Investors Summit, which is scheduled for March 2026, following the successful conclusion of these Round Table sessions.
