Punjab Police Probes Tinder Account Linked to Amritpal Singh in Sikh Activist’s Murder Case

Punjab Police has reached out to dating app Tinder for information about an account suspected to be connected to radical preacher and MP Amritpal Singh, who is currently facing serious charges, including murder.

The investigation is linked to the killing of Sikh activist Gurpreet Singh, also known as Hari Nau, who was shot dead in October 2024 while returning home from a village gurdwara on his motorcycle. Gurpreet was vocal online and ran a Facebook page called Hari Nau Talks, where he often spoke out against Amritpal Singh and his radical outfit, Waris Punjab De.

According to the police, the murder was carried out by two shooters who have now been arrested. They believe the crime was planned by gangster-turned-terrorist Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dalla, under Amritpal Singh’s influence.

During the investigation, police discovered a Tinder profile under the name “Amrit Sandhu,” which they suspect might be linked to Amritpal Singh. To dig deeper, Punjab Police has officially requested Tinder to share details such as the account holder’s name, phone number, IP address, chat history, photos, and any other information dating back to 2019.

Amritpal Singh, the MP from Khadoor Sahib, is currently in Dibrugarh Jail in Assam under the National Security Act, along with nine of his associates. He is known for following the ideology and appearance of Khalistani militant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
