Punjab Pensioners to Hold Protest March in Ludhiana West on June 14 Over Pending Dues

The Punjab Pensioners Welfare Association has announced a protest and flag march in Ludhiana West on June 14, ahead of the bypoll, to demand the release of their long-pending dues from the state government.

The protest will be held under the banner of the Punjab Employees’ Vote Pensioners Joint Front. The decision was taken during the association’s monthly meeting held at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, chaired by district president Som Lal Thopiya.

During the meeting, pensioners expressed anger over the government’s inaction and demanded that their dues be paid in full, instead of being delayed further. All present resolved to participate in the June 14 march.

At the start of the meeting, a two-minute silence was observed in memory of a leader’s mother.

Those present included Jeet Lal Gohalon, Ashok Kumar, Karnail Singh Rahon, Hari Bilas, Joga Singh, Sokhi Ram Bajjon, Ram Pal, Sucha Ram, Didar Singh, Beant Singh, Harmesh Lal Ranewal, HS Bhawra, Ram Lal, Resham Lal, Dharam Pal, Surjit Ram, Harvinder Singh, Harbans Singh, Gurdial Singh, and Tarsem Singh, among others.
