ਪੰਜਾਬ has been put on high alert after a terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ has increased security at religious places, public areas, and for ਲੋਕ who are at high risk.
ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ Bhagwant Mann held a meeting to check the security situation. He said that patrolling has been increased at busy places and schools, especially those with students from Jammu and Kashmir.
ਪੁਲਿਸ are checking more vehicles at state and ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ borders. DGP Gaurav Yadav said ਪੰਜਾਬ is in close contact with the J&K ਪੁਲਿਸ and intelligence agencies. He warned that Pakistan is trying to harm ਭਾਰਤ secretly, but ਪੰਜਾਬ is ready to fight back.
CM Mann said ਪੰਜਾਬ’s long border with Pakistan makes it a target. He also warned about a growing link between terrorists, gangsters, and drug smugglers. Drones are being used to send drugs and weapons into ਪੰਜਾਬ. He promised that the ਸਰਕਾਰ will not let anyone disturb the peace.
The state is also working to bring back Punjabis who are stuck in Kashmir.
Congress Reacts:
ਪੰਜਾਬ Congress leader Amrinder Singh Raja Warring called the attack an attack on ਭਾਰਤ’s unity. He said the Congress party supports the central ਸਰਕਾਰ in punishing the attackers.
