Punjab Gears Up for Semiconductor Growth: CM Mann Announces Park in Mohali

Punjab is getting ready to become a key player in the semiconductor industry. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann recently discussed this vision with industry experts during a visit to Mohali. He also announced that a semiconductor park will be set up in Mohali and nearby areas to support this plan.

CM Mann said that semiconductor chips are the heart of modern technology. They are used in almost every electronic device, from simple gadgets to artificial intelligence systems, he said.

The Chief Minister highlighted the huge economic potential of this sector pointing out that it currently contributes 20–23% to the national GDP. He added that Punjab aims to lead in semiconductor design and manufacturing as India grows in this field.

The new semiconductor park is expected to boost several sectors including electronics, automobiles, military, aerospace, medical devices, cloud computing and AI.

CM Mann stated that Punjab already has the necessary infrastructure, skilled labor and policies that encourage industrial growth. Punjab is ready and perfect for the semiconductor sector, he said.
