ਪੰਜਾਬ Congress leaders on Sunday sharply criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ਸਰਕਾਰ over the suspension of MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, saying that silencing internal voices would not hide the truth.
ਪੰਜਾਬ Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) ਮੁੱਖ Amrinder Singh Raja Warring said while the suspension may be an internal party issue for AAP, it doesn’t excuse the ਸਰਕਾਰ from addressing the serious questions raised.
“The suspension of Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh is AAP’s internal matter, but that doesn’t mean the ਸਰਕਾਰ is off the hook for the concerns he voiced. The issues of sacrilege and drug trafficking remain unresolved,” Warring said.
He added that AAP’s ‘question hour’ has begun, and the ਸਰਕਾਰ seems to have no answers.“It may suspend one MLA, but what about the three crore Punjabis who are asking the same questions?” Warring asked.
Leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Partap Singh Bajwa echoed similar sentiments, stating that AAP had failed to deliver on its core promises.
“When Kunwar Vijay Pratap joined AAP, Arvind Kejriwal had promised justice in the Bargari sacrilege case and a crackdown on the drug mafia. ਅੱਜ, one of AAP’s few honest and courageous MLAs has been suspended — for simply speaking the truth.”
Bajwa further said that the suspension of Kunwar Vijay Pratap should be seen as a “badge of honour”, commending the MLA for standing up for ਪੰਜਾਬ and exposing what he described as the failures of ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ Bhagwant Mann’s ਸਰਕਾਰ.
