PM says: RSS helped Sikhs during the riots: Several Sikh families were given shelter in the homes of Sangh workers during the 1984 massacre.
Regarding the 1984 Sikh genocide, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued a statement. He said that numerous Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) employees assisted the Sikhs during that time, and that a number of Sikh families sought safety in the homes of RSS employees.
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi stated that RSS employees were the first to arrive at the victims of the recent floods in Punjab. Sangh employees, he claimed, offer unselfish service. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was addressing in Delhi at a celebration commemorating the Sangh’s 100th anniversary of founding.
Responses to the Statement of the PM
R.P. Singh, the BJP spokesperson, also responded on this occasion. He claimed that RSS’s assistance at the time allowed him to survive those clashes. At that moment, he was accompanied by his parents.
Gurcharan Singh Grewal, a member of the SGPC, stated that numerous Hindu households rescued Sikhs. He doesn’t know, though, if they were RSS members.
He added that whereas Sikh organisations support their own faith, the RSS supports Hinduism. He went on to say that the Congress’s persecution of them during that period is indelibly etched on the wall.
