PM Modi to Visit Cyprus, Canada, and Croatia from June 15–19: MEA

Prime ਮੰਤਰੀ Narendra Modi will embark on an official visit to Cyprus, Canada, and Croatia from June 15 to 19, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Saturday.

The visit will begin with a two-day stop in Cyprus from June 15 to 16, at the invitation of President Nikos Christodoulides. This marks the first visit by an Indian Prime ਮੰਤਰੀ to Cyprus in over two decades. During his stay, PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with the Cypriot President in Nicosia and address business leaders in Limassol.

According to the MEA, the visit will reaffirm the shared commitment to deepen bilateral ties and enhance ਭਾਰਤ’s engagement with the Mediterranean region and the European Union.

The second leg of the visit will take the Prime ਮੰਤਰੀ to Kananaskis, Canada, from June 16 to 17, where he will participate in the G-7 Summit at the invitation of Canadian Prime ਮੰਤਰੀ Mark Carney. This will be Modi’s sixth consecutive appearance at the summit.

At the G-7, PM Modi is expected to hold discussions with G-7 leaders, outreach countries, and heads of international organisations on key global issues such as energy security, artificial intelligence, the AI-energy nexus, and quantum technologies. Several bilateral meetings are also scheduled on the sidelines of the summit.

The final stop will be Croatia on June 18, where PM Modi will meet with Prime ਮੰਤਰੀ Andrej Plenković and President Zoran Milanović. This will be the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime ਮੰਤਰੀ to Croatia, aimed at strengthening ਭਾਰਤ’s engagement with the European Union.

The five-day tour is expected to further boost ਭਾਰਤ’s diplomatic, strategic, and economic partnerships with the three countries and global platforms.
