Congress leader Rahul Gandhi turned 55 on Thursday, and political leaders from across the spectrum extended their birthday greetings, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who wished him a long and healthy life.
Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi wrote:
“Birthday greetings to the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Shri Rahul Gandhi. May he be blessed with a long and healthy life.”
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also shared his wishes:
“Greetings to the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Shri @RahulGandhi on his birthday. May he be blessed with good health and a long life.”
Joining in, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin offered a heartfelt message, referring to Rahul Gandhi as his “brother-in-ideals”:
“Warm birthday wishes to my brother-in-ideals, @RahulGandhi – bound not by blood, but by thought, vision, and purpose. May you continue to stand firm and lead with courage. In our march towards a brighter India, victory shall be ours.”
Senior Congress leader and former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot lauded Gandhi’s unwavering commitment to social justice:
“The extent to which Rahul ji is fighting for the rights of the oppressed, Dalits, Tribals, backward classes, and the poor among upper castes is truly unprecedented. We all stand with you in this fight to protect the Constitution and democracy.”
Meanwhile, to mark the occasion, the Indian Youth Congress is organising a mega job fair, aimed at offering employment opportunities to the youth. According to organisers, the event will feature over 100 companies and MNCs, with more than 5,000 job openings on offer.
As wishes poured in from across party lines, the day also saw a renewed emphasis on Rahul Gandhi’s growing political stature as the recently appointed Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, a position the Congress holds after over a decade.
The birthday celebrations were marked not just by greetings, but also by gestures aimed at youth empowerment and messages of democratic commitment.
