Panchkula to Get Smart City Upgrade with Integrated Command and Control Centre

Panchkula is set to experience a major transformation in its urban infrastructure, as the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority (PMDA) approved the establishment of an Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC). The decision was made during the authority’s third meeting, chaired by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.

A total budget of ₹587.94 crore has been sanctioned for the financial year 2025–26. The ICCC alone will cost ₹208.92 crore and is expected to be completed within nine months. Once operational, it will enhance urban governance, emergency response, and civic management across the city.

The centre will feature advanced technology, including AI-powered CCTV surveillance, adaptive traffic control, automatic number plate recognition (ANPR), red light violation detection, emergency call boxes, and public address systems. It will also be integrated with the Haryana Police Dial-112 emergency helpline and SCADA systems for real-time monitoring of solid waste management, lighting, water supply, and sewerage.

In addition to the ICCC, the PMDA has approved the rejuvenation of two important city water bodies — Jal Dhara (from MDC to Rajiv-Indira Colony) and Singh Nallah Chowk (from Sector 1 to Industrial Area, Phase 1) — at a combined cost of ₹95.42 crore.

The meeting also cleared the development of a world-class shooting range in Sector 32, with an investment of ₹173.48 crore.

Chief Minister Saini directed that all road repair work in Panchkula must be completed by June 15. He also announced plans to develop a model road from Majri Chowk in Sector 1 to the Railway Station. The upgraded road will include footpaths, cycle tracks, and green landscaping.

PMDA CEO KM Pandurang shared updates on ongoing projects and confirmed that five new sewage treatment plants are under construction. The authority has also taken over 48 km of sector-dividing roads, 11 parks, and 19 green belts for better management.

The meeting was attended by Kalka MLA Shakti Rani Sharma, Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal, Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, and other senior officials of the Haryana Government and the PMDA.
