Pakistan Warns of Possible Indian Military Action After Pahalgam Attack

On Wednesday, Pakistan said it has strong information that India may launch a military attack within the next 24 to 36 hours. Pakistan warned that any such action will be met with a strong response and that India will be responsible for any serious effects in the region.

This warning came after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the country’s military leaders that they have full freedom to decide how and when to respond to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 people.

Since the attack, India has taken strong steps against Pakistan. It has reduced diplomatic ties, suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, shut down the Attari-Wagah border, and sent back Pakistani military officers. In return, Pakistan has also taken similar steps and paused the 1972 Simla Agreement.

Pakistan’s Information Minister, Attaullah Tarar, said the Pahalgam attack is being used as a false reason for a possible strike and warned India of serious consequences. He also said Pakistan has suffered from terrorism and understands the pain it causes, and has always spoken against it in any form.
