Pakistan Attacks India with Drones and Missiles, Indian Army Responds Strongly

On the night of May 8-9, Pakistan attacked India using drones and missiles along the western border and the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army said that they stopped all attacks and gave a strong response.

Many areas like Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur were targeted. Pakistan also violated the ceasefire agreement in several places. Eight missiles aimed at places like Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia were stopped by India’s air defence system. No major damage or loss was reported.

Some defence officials said the attacks looked similar to how Hamas attacked Israel. Indian intelligence also shared that Hamas and Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI recently met.

The United States stepped in to reduce tension. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He asked both countries to calm the situation and talk directly to avoid further conflict.

India has said it is fully ready to protect its land and will strongly respond to any future threats.
