OPD time of hospitals in Punjab-Chandigarh changed: Will start from 9 am; registration counter time also changed; Emergency services will remain functional 24 hours.
As of right now, Punjabi and Chandigarh government hospitals and dispensaries have altered their OPD hours. According to the administration, these directives were issued with the winters in mind. The new orders will come into force from today (October 16). Emergency services will, however, continue to operate as usual for the full twenty-four hours.
Chandigarh’s and Punjab’s government-speciality hospitals, dispensaries, etc., will be impacted by the timing adjustment. Emergency care is available to patients in critical condition.
What is the new time for hospitals?
The OPD hours for hospitals in Punjab and Chandigarh will henceforth be from 9 am to 3 pm in accordance with government directives. From October 16 until April 15, these directives will be in force. According to administrative officials, the issue of fog and mist during the winter months is the reason behind the issuance of these directives. After April 15, the former schedule of 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. will be used once more.

Timing of these in Chandigarh changed.
The Government Multi-Speciality Hospital, Sector-16, as well as the dispensaries, Civil Hospital Sector-22, Civil Hospital Manimajra, and Civil Hospital Sector-45, that are under its jurisdiction, would be subject to the Chandigarh time adjustment order. These hospitals’ and dispensaries’ current OPD hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The UT Secretariat, the High Court dispensaries, and the ESI dispensaries in Sectors 29 and 23 have not changed their hours, according to the Chandigarh government.
