Major Operation in Zirakpur: Large Consignment of Banned Narcotics Seized.
During a significant operation in Zirakpur, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Chandigarh, confiscated a sizable shipment of illegal drugs.
The government-banned drugs were being carried from Dehradun to Amritsar via truck. On Zirakpur’s Airport Road, the squad stopped and confiscated the truck, which was registered in Uttar Pradesh.
Five lakh tablets and the truck driver were taken into custody.
The Chandigarh Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) squad found a sizable shipment of illegal substances on Zirakpur’s Airport Road late this evening. An estimated 5 lakh tablets, valued at millions of rupees, were found by the crew. Following a tip, the team stopped a truck at a dhaba (roadside restaurant) in Zirakpur that had an Uttar Pradesh registration number. The vehicle was on its way to Amritsar from Dehradun. Tramadol, a drug outlawed by the government, was included in the confiscated shipment.
