Major Action by Ludhiana Police! Individual Arrested for Spreading Incendiary Content on Social Media.
A young man has been detained by the Cyber Crime Police in Ludhiana, Punjab, for inciting hatred on social media and upsetting communal harmony. Police Commissioner Swapn Sharma claimed that the young man has been identified as Arshdeep Singh Saini. The accused, Arshdeep Singh Saini, was frequently posting incendiary content through his ‘X’ (previously Twitter) profile. Police fear that his links may be tied to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, and a detailed investigation is ongoing.
Account Operated Under the Name ‘The Lama Singh’
The Police Commissioner added that the apprehended culprit was quite active on his X handle ‘@the_lama_singh.’ Arshdeep has almost 13,000 followers and has been active on this site since 2019. The inquiry indicated that he was purposefully disseminating content intended to stir and generate animosity among the Sikh, Hindu, and Muslim communities.
Suspicion of ISI and a ‘Toolkit’
In the preliminary inquiry, investigators are smelling a massive plot. The authorities are trying to ascertain whether Arshdeep’s provocative remarks were part of a ‘Toolkit’, aimed at sowing instability in Punjab at the behest of the ISI.
All of this appears to have been carried out in accordance with a prearranged plan, based on indicators from his followers’ profiles and activities. Other material producers who try to agitate the public are now on the police radar.
Accused Had Returned from the UK
The police registered FIR Number 64 in this case on November 28, 2025, under sections of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) and the IT Act. From Ropar, the accused was taken into custody. Interrogation revealed that Arshdeep had gone to the UK in 2014 and returned to India very recently. In order to determine the scope of his international links, the police will bring him before the court and request remand.
