Ludhiana Passport Office to Shift to Modern Facility at Global Business Park from July 7

In a major relief for residents, the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in Ludhiana will shift to a new, spacious location at Global Business Park on G.T. Road near Jalandhar Bypass, Village Bhora. The upgraded facility will become operational from July 7, 2025.

The move comes after persistent efforts by Punjab Cabinet Minister for Industry & Commerce, Investment Promotion, and NRI Affairs, Sanjeev Arora, who pushed for the relocation due to the inadequate conditions at the current PSK located in Akashdeep Complex, Gyan Singh Rarewala Market.

Arora began advocating for the shift as early as February 3, 2023, and followed up consistently with the Ministry of External Affairs through multiple letters. He highlighted the lack of basic amenities, poor infrastructure, and absence of proper parking and waiting areas at the existing premises.

In response to his efforts, the Ministry confirmed on February 28, 2023, that the relocation process was in progress. Arora’s sustained engagement helped accelerate the shift to a more accessible and citizen-friendly facility.

“I am deeply satisfied that my consistent efforts over the past two years have finally yielded results,” said Arora. “The old location was simply not fit for the kind of services people expect. This new centre will offer a far better experience.”

He added that the new PSK is expected to enhance efficiency, improve service quality, and provide a dignified environment for applicants.

Arora also reassured the public of his ongoing commitment to solving civic issues, stating, “This is just the beginning. I will continue to raise and resolve long-pending public concerns with the same sincerity.”
