Ludhiana News: Punjab’s most expensive toll plaza, Ladhowal, made free after farmers protest.


Young people and farmers in Ludhiana have freed the Ladhowal toll plaza. When the farmer convoy reached the toll plaza, led by Bharatiya Kisan Mazdoor Union leaders, they launched a sit-in protest, which resulted in the suspension of toll collection. The police administration also showed up at the location after learning about the farmers’ protest. Around the toll plaza, police checkpoint staff and forces from two to three police stations have been stationed. Strict security measures have been implemented by the police.

The roads between the village of Mangli and the Ladhowal toll are in bad shape, which causes problems for the locals, according to Dilbagh Singh Gill, president of the Bharatiya Kisan Mazdoor Union. Rahon Road is in such terrible shape, he claimed, that no one is able to drive on it. A pregnant woman might encounter major issues if she were to cross Rahon Road. Additionally, street merchants cause a traffic gridlock in the evening on the road between the village of Mangli and Basti Jodhewal Chowk.
