The Central Government has also stepped up its efforts to open the International Airport at Halwara in Ludhiana. Regarding the completion of the civil construction at Halwara Airport, the District Administration sent a letter to the Central Government. The Central team will now travel to Halwara to examine the Airport Terminal Building. After inspection, if it is deemed suitable, the team will grant clearance, at which point operations can start.

Before granting clearance, the Halwara Terminal Building will be inspected by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCS) personnel, according to information supplied by Central Minister Ravneet Singh Biddu.
