Ludhiana: BJP Leader Accused of Drug Smuggling; Municipal Council Demolishes House; Nameplate of BJP SC Morcha Chief Was on the House.


Under the “War Against Drugs” campaign, the police in Jagraon, Ludhiana, Punjab, broke into the home of Ajay Gill, the head of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) SC Wing. Despite strong opposition, the house was razed by the Municipal Council and a joint police squad. Ajay Gill’s plaque, which identified him as the President of the BJP SC Morcha Dehat (Rural), was placed outside the house that the police destroyed.

Officials Receive Copies of Court Orders During Protest
A copy of the court orders was given to the officials during the demonstration. Superintendent of the Municipal Council Vishnu Dutt called the team back and halted the activity till the next hearing.

House Demolished, DSP and SHO Reached Again
An hour or so after the team’s return, DSP Kulwant Singh and Harnarinder Singh Shergill, the Municipal Council’s Executive Officer, arrived at the scene with a large police presence. They ordered the house to be demolished right away. Heavy machinery was unable to enter due to the limited road. After that, hammers were used to remove the damaged pieces of the house.

The BJP SC Wing’s vice president is Ajay Gill.
Ajay Gill was the owner of the property that was destroyed, and his nameplate outside identified him as the Jagraon BJP (SC Wing) President. There are also large hoardings in the region that feature him. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other prominent BJP figures are shown in the hoardings. According to the police, Ajay Gill is the subject of seven major crimes, including drug smuggling. Under pressure from the ruling party, action is being taken.
Ajay Gill’s sister, Sumita, claimed that because her brother is connected to the BJP, the ruling party is pressuring him to be falsely accused. Additionally, she stated that the family had filed lawsuits against the police and that they had previously received threats to drop those cases from the City SHO and an ASI.
