After days of scorching heat, people across Himachal Pradesh finally got a slight respite on Friday as several regions experienced light to moderate rainfall. The rain brought down temperatures across many parts of the state, offering temporary relief from the ongoing heatwave conditions.
According to the State Meteorological Department, this change in weather is expected to continue until June 19, with light to moderate rain likely in isolated areas. The department has also issued a yellow weather warning for June 15 to 17, predicting thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in various districts.
A separate yellow alert for heatwave has been issued for June 14 in Kullu, Mandi, Una, Kangra, and Chamba, where temperatures are still soaring.
