Launch of SNID Plus Polio Round in Punjab: Health Minister Kicks Off Drive in Fatehgarh Sahib; 15 Lakh Children to Receive the Dose.
Today, the Community Health Centre in Chanarthal Kalan, Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab, hosted the launch of the SNID Plus Polio Round (Sub-National Immunization Day).
Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh launched the program, which will administer the polio vaccine to almost 15 lakh children aged 0 to 5.
By giving the kids their polio medication, Dr. Balbir Singh formally started the campaign. This dosage is referred to as “Two Drops of Life.”
“Continuous Vigilance is Essential in the State,” the minister says.
Dr. Balbir Singh, the health minister, voiced alarm about the ongoing polio outbreaks in Afghanistan and Pakistan, two nearby nations. He said that Punjab must maintain constant surveillance because of its proximity to international borders. To stop any dangers, the Health Department routinely runs specific immunization campaigns and monitoring checks.

Encouragement to Give Polio Drops and Encourage Others
Parents are encouraged to bring their children to immunization centers on the first day of this special SNID Plus Polio Round. In order to make sure that no child in the 0–5 age range misses the polio dose, Health Department staff will thereafter go door to door. The health minister urged everyone to vaccinate their own children and to encourage others to follow suit.
Since even a minor act of negligence can leave a kid permanently incapacitated, he emphasized that everyone’s role is crucial to the eradication of polio.
