Kashmiri Students Face Harassment After Pahalgam Attack, Leaders Call for Safety Measures

After the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, some Kashmiri students living in different parts of India are facing problems. They have reported being harassed, threatened, and asked to leave their rented homes.

Sajad Lone, the leader of the People’s Conference party and an MLA from Handwara, said on social media that many such incidents have happened across the country. He asked the Union Government to make sure all Kashmiri students are safe.

The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association also said that they received reports about Kashmiri students getting threat calls and facing bullying in many places.

Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said she talked to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. She shared her condolences for the families affected by the Pahalgam attack and also asked him to act quickly to protect Kashmiri students and traders.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that the Jammu and Kashmir government is in contact with the governments of other states where such incidents are being reported. He also said he is speaking directly with other Chief Ministers and has asked them to take special care of Kashmiri people in their states.

Earlier, National Conference leader Imran Nabi Dar said that many videos of scared Kashmiri students were being shared online. He also requested Omar Abdullah and the government to help protect them.

Leaders are now urging quick action to make sure Kashmiri students across India are safe and not treated unfairly.
